<summary type="text">Knowledge Potential and Cost of Entrepreneur Teams in India

In this paper I argue about the knowledge potential (Samuelson and Nordhaus, 2001) of teams of entrepreneurs (Chowdhury 2005; Shah, Agarwal and Echambadi, 2019) with different skills and the resulting competitive advantage (Porter,1997). For example, a social entrepreneur could team up with a woman entrepreneur and a tech entrepreneur to form a team of entrepreneurs leading to improved production of innovative products and services as well as reducing in the overall risk taking of the team of entrepreneurs. There is a division of labor (Marshall, 2009) between the various members of the team with significant respect for each other’s capabilities as well as sum of capabilities that effects the performance of the startup or MSME. Current theory (Chowdhury 2005, Nahapiet and Ghoshal, 1998) argues for entrepreneurial abilities but to shift the capability to a team of entrepreneurs is the purpose and contribution of this paper. There is a cost of acquisition of knowledge in terms of the cost of the degree of education and potential which is the average earning in India for that particular degree.

Entrepreneurship is gaining momentum gradually due to globalization incorporating itself in the market. Women entrepreneurship is also growing and giving an outstanding performance with time and experience. Any endeavor by an individual, a group of individuals, or an established firm to start a new business or new enterprise, such as self-employment, forming a new business organization, or expanding an existing business, is what entrepreneurship is, as per our study. Innovation and competition are the accelerators of entrepreneurship across the globe. The world economy is aided by the entrepreneurial sector towards achieving stability with the help of the knowledge economy. Though employment opportunities are created by the entrepreneurship segment still, it gives birth to challenges and threats in the path of business. This study aims to understand and analyze the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs during their business processes and how they find a solution to the challenges and threats to conduct business ethically. For this research, we have considered a startup venture named AllThatGrass, whose origin is from Odisha, India. This case concerns an organization called All That Grass, which works to help tribal women earn a living outside of their homes. It aims to empower women artisans in rural India and aid in developing their identities. Soumya Sharma, the originator of All That Grass, set out to explore rural areas of Odisha at first. Still, over time she expanded her scope to include rural communities in eastern and northeastern India, including West Bengal and Manipur. She has also collaborated with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu artisans in South India. The organization has helped the women artisans showcase their talents and sell their artistic and sustainable creations with time. Sustainability has been a significant foundation of the organization. AllThatGrass ensures that the artisans are paid in time as per the organization's policies. The quality control, pricing structure, and warehousing are well taken care of to ensure the customer and the manufacturer is satisfied. The business processes carried out at AllThatGrass have been wholly focused on the socio-economic development of the rural women artisans and sustainable product development as the primary and priority aspect of the business.

<summary type="text">Supporting Women Entrepreneurs “Differently”: A Policy Perspective on Women Entrepreneurship

Women and female mean same to large group of people in our society. Few are aware of the immense gap in these two words. Where female defines the biological sex of a human, women is a gender defined as per the psychological, social, and cultural arrangement of a particular region. Rather than dividing on the basis of biological sex, our society is divided on the basis of gender; men and women. Gender is framed with a set defined role as per the socio-culture, according to which women are supposed to be home-makers and childcare takers and men have to be involved in economic activities for their family. Adhering to these roles, we are involved in doing gender well or appropriately, and doing the role of other gender points toward doing gender differently. With this set line of rules in our society, when a women step in economic activities, it not only brings the concept of gender differently, but a whole new set of challenges and hurdles for women. Same is the case with women entrepreneurs. With a rise in entrepreneurial upliftment for development of economies, many researchers, academicians, policy-makers are interested in this topic. Parallel to this, it brings our attention towards women entrepreneurs, who have their own challenges which erupts not because they are female, but because of being a woman. In a society where women are not appreciated getting involved in economic activity, having their own enterprise is complicated with multidimensional obstacles. Focusing on challenges of women entrepreneurs through the lens of social role with social role theory as a foundation of our discussion, this paper tries to understand whether the current policies, supports, and initiatives are framed keeping these socio-cultural issues on the table.
