In spite of the recognition that entrepreneurship and innovation are interlinked,&#13;
very few studies have attempted to articulate this relationship.&#13;
The aim of this article is to explain the nature of the relationship between&#13;
entrepreneurship and innovation in large firms, arguing that entrepreneurship&#13;
is an antecedent to innovation. The study employs a multidimensional&#13;
entrepreneurial architecture (EA) framework for the first time and tests&#13;
the effect of a battery of entrepreneurship measures on innovation output,&#13;
which is reflected as degree and frequency of incremental and radical&#13;
innovations. Adopting a quantitative approach, data were collected&#13;
from 400 corporate firms in Oman representing various sectors of the&#13;
economy. The EA dimensions reflected through entrepreneurial culture,&#13;
entrepreneurial structure, entrepreneurial strategies and entrepreneurial&#13;
leadership were tested through measurement and structural modelling.&#13;
The results confirmed that entrepreneurship is a precursor to innovation.&#13;
The EA framework, through its four dimensions, creates a collaborative&#13;
and complimentary intensity that promotes innovation outputs,&#13;
which may not be possible from the isolated effects of individual factors.

Previous research in work and organisational studies has found that&#13;
individuals may experience their work as a job, a career or a calling.&#13;
That experience, in turn, has a significant influence on their performance.&#13;
In the present study, we apply this framework to the field of entrepreneurship&#13;
and examine if the experience of aspiring entrepreneurs as a&#13;
job, a career or a calling impacts their ability to attract resources for a&#13;
new venture by considering two different resource attraction strategies&#13;
presented in the literature: network positioning and proactive search.&#13;
The results show that seeing entrepreneurship as a job has a negative&#13;
impact on both network positioning and proactive search strategies.&#13;
Experiencing entrepreneurship as a calling, however, has a positive&#13;
impact on proactive search strategy. Perceiving entrepreneurship as a&#13;
career is not related to resource attraction strategies. These findings&#13;
illustrate that the way aspiring entrepreneurs experience their role as&#13;
entrepreneurs affects their efforts as well as others’ confidence in terms&#13;
of attracting resources for their new ventures. Theoretical and practical&#13;
implications are addressed at the end of this work.

Entrepreneurship education enhances the entrepreneurial potential of&#13;
students, leading them to take up an entrepreneurial career. But, in&#13;
India, a vast majority of youths with latent entrepreneurial potential&#13;
are passing out of colleges without the needed basic entrepreneurial&#13;
skills. The inconsistency towards entrepreneurship development policy&#13;
is hurting the economy as a whole. The study analyses entrepreneurial&#13;
potential of students and entrepreneurship education in the higher&#13;
education system. It also examines whether there exists an alignment&#13;
among them using the data triangulation method. The findings signify&#13;
that entrepreneurial potential of students is on the upper side, and&#13;
entrepreneurship education in higher education system is below average.&#13;
The outcome of this study highlights the increasing need to focus on&#13;
entrepreneurship education in higher education.

Empirical evidence suggests that immigrants appear to be more entrepreneurially&#13;
active than native people. While the formation of new&#13;
firms by immigrants has been widely studied, the literature about the&#13;
performance of these new ventures created by immigrants after their&#13;
inception remains scarce and anecdotal. This study sheds light on firminternal&#13;
and firm-external factors that affect the life expectancy of new&#13;
firms created by immigrants within a local economy during a period&#13;
of recession, when the creation of firms is particularly important.&#13;
The results show that immigrant entrepreneurs are more likely to quit&#13;
their businesses earlier than their native counterparts. We argue that&#13;
this may be partially explained by the liability of foreignness faced by&#13;
immigrants.
