<description>Uncertain and Risky Business Environment: Entrepreneurial Perceptions
Sharma, Manoj K; Malhotra, Shefali
An Entrepreneur is faced with ambiguous and changing business environment that brings along uncertainty and risk. Uncertainty and its management can make or mar an organization’s future. The first step in tackling the uncertain business environment is to continuously scan the changing environment. Clear and up-to-date knowledge&#13;
of the environment aids in timely action which can mean the difference between survival and extinction. Understanding Uncertainty and Risk is critical in the entrepreneurial business environment as managing uncertainty involves swift and adaptive decision making to avail the opportunities that are presented and avoid the threats that&#13;
are posed by the changing environment. Scanning the business environment assumes a greater significance in the context of Indian Economy which is characterized by dynamic social, economic and political environmental segments. Historically, India has experienced entrepreneurial uncertainty in the form of excessive public sector control, unstable political leadership, fiscal debt and globalization. This paper explores the need of the entrepreneurs to keep abreast of the developments in the business environment so as to be “opportunity focused and not risk focused”. The paper&#13;
documents the experiences and perceptions of entrepreneurs about the business environment.

Palamida, Eftychia; Papagiannidis, Savvas; Xanthopoulou, Desponia
In this paper we apply the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) in order to explore the effects of capital on young individuals’ investment intentions in diverse cultural backgrounds. We hypothesise that human, social and financial capital will indirectly influence investment intention via personal attitudes, subjective norms and perceived&#13;
behavioural control. Results of bootstrap analyses for indirect effects confirmed the hypothesised relationships. By differentiating between individuals with Greek and English nationality, our findings show that individuals with an individualistic cultural background were willing to invest only social capital while those with a collectivistic&#13;
background were inclined to invest human and social.

<title>Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Intent among Students: A Case Study of BITS Pilani</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/30</link>
<description>Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Intent among Students: A Case Study of BITS Pilani
Kumar, Arya; Jain, Aayush
The objective of this study is to determine and analyze factors that influence students’ intention to become an entrepreneur. The model of this study includes the effect of demographics, contextual factors and the components of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) on the entrepreneurial intention of the students. A sample of 282 students&#13;
participated in a survey, consisting of questions measuring attitude towards  entrepreneurship, perceived support and barriers, locus of control, need for achievement, instrumental readiness, subjective norms, and entrepreneurial&#13;
intention. The findings of the study show that all the factors mentioned above significantly affect the intention to be an entrepreneur. Out of these factors, attitude towards entrepreneurship contributes most towards entrepreneurial intention. The results also showed that gender, courses and workshop on entrepreneurship, and student loans for studies also have an effect on entrepreneurial intention.There is a need to consciously focus in an integrated manner on these factors in academic institutions to create intent in students to take up entrepreneurship as career option.&#13;
Further, for developing positive attitude towards entrepreneurship, academic institutions must include courses that provide experiential learning and hands on experience through exercises and assignments resulting in design and development of prototypes and products responding to societal needs.
