From a functional mark of entrepreneurship, innovation has been getting into conceptual and operational expenses. One expression is social innovation. In its basic form, social innovation represents a clear deviation from the existing modes and solutions. It stands for new ideas that meet unmet needs. The fundamental orientation of any social innovation is towards exploring new paths in entrepreneurship and towards evolving novel solutions to social problems. In this mould, social innovation moves beyond the oft conceived strongholds of non-profit social enterprises. Its reaches cut across the traditional boundaries separating non-profit sectors, Government and for profit organisations. Viewed in this perspective social innovation becomes a shared responsibility. Catching on the nature of social innovation to be a process and an outcome of responsible agency, this paper is oriented towards&#13;
examining the conceptual and practical routes of perceiving social innovation as a responsibility shared by multiple agents across the working spectrum of the same. It focuses on conceptualising social innovation as shared responsibility. The objectives are twofold: one, searching for the conceptual and theoretical spaces accommodative&#13;
to this perception;two,unfolding an empirical context which fits in its line. The former courses through conceptual and theoretical bases; the latter rests on analytical inputs from a study on She Taxi, an entrepreneurship driven model denoting fleets of women driven Taxis. This 24x7 travelling cab system, designed, developed and operated by&#13;
the Government of Kerala partnering with the private and social sectors as the first of its kind initiative for addressing issues of women safety and security, is selected as a case for discerning social innovation as shared responsibility.

Semarang, as the capital of Java, Indonesia is trying hard to develop her economy by entrepreneurship.Entrepreneurship orientation, social capital and product innovation are important factors that can achive business performance of small medium enterprise. The objectives of this research are three folds. First, the research was designed to investigate the effects of entrepreneurship orientation, social capital (social network, trust) on product innovation. Second, it was to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial orientation and social capital on business performance. Finally, it was to analyze the effect of product innovation on business performance. The sample size&#13;
was 220 small medium enterprise taking from various clusters in Semarang, Indonesia. The analysis employed a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS v 16.The results demonstrated that entrepreneurship orientation, social network and trust had a significantly and positively influenced on product innovation and business performance, while entreprenership orientaion and the product innovation showed significantly and positive influences on business performance.However, despite their positive influences, the effects of social network and trust on entrepreneurial intention were insignificant. The findings conclude that the entrepreneurial orientaion&#13;
and product innovation are key factors in developing entrepreneurship in Semarang

Innovation constitutes the core of successful entrepreneurship to meet change. Global power shifts from the West to Asia generate power games: India, China, the Americas, Russia. Faced with rising populations, emerging countries must develop their economic capacities. Growth of GNP must cope with inner/outer challenges: political, social/ societal, economical, cultural. Innovation embodies societal rejuvenation. Society must reinvent itself on all levels, namely must build up infrastructure. The highly complex/complicated process asks for creative change by innovative entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship initiates the key process of successful continuous learning: where, whereto and how. Innovation relies on relevant environments. They imply challenge and chance. To meet markets and to keep pace with technological progress, innovation permeates the entire enterprise and its environments. Change comprises&#13;
marketing, technology, operation, management; eventually the core business model. Innovation means performance design within strategic Change Management. Answers are to be found to challenges as for example to bionic production modes, industry 4.0, to robots and logistics. Change management pro-actively has to master Digital&#13;
Transformation: networking, virtualisation, simulation, service automation, consumer individualisation, manufacturing service ecosystems; securing resilience of enterprises. To cope with complexity innovation depends on open innovation environments furthering a both flexible and long term innovation strategy. - Examples&#13;
demonstrate practice solutions as shared and open innovation.

Innovation is a driving force of a country’s economic growth. Measuring innovation is a challenging task due to various inputs and those activities that drive innovation. This paper measures innovative activity of a selected list of countries. It further elaborates on the dependence of R&amp;D indicators on the patenting activity for those countries.&#13;
A method based on descriptive statistics is used in this study to perform the analysis and discussed. The dataset comprises patent data from European Patent Office (EPO) for 14 countries for a 7-year time interval between 1999 and 2005. Two innovation performance ratios (Inventive Performance, Invention Productive Performance) that are&#13;
derived from relating patent count to R&amp;D expenditure as well as number of research personnel in countries is used to draw a comparison of innovative performance of countries.
