<title>EDII Reports 136 (Issue V, Dec 2025 - Jan 2026)</title>

<description>EDII Reports 136 (Issue V, Dec 2025 - Jan 2026)
From the Director General’s Desk: Bolstering the Union of Traditional Skills and Modern Approach - It is encouraging to witness how India's artisans are stepping out of their comfort zones, leveraging the resources available to transform their art, learning new business practices, adopting the changing measures and living a flourishing life. India's artisanal history is centuries old. But with passing time, and with the stepping in of contemporary modes of craft production, the demand for artisanal products got affected, and over time, these businesses got reduced to being informal self- employment or a side hustle. Ensuring sustenance of a business, be it a craft, service or product production, encompasses multiple operations which demand certain competencies in the artisan/entrepreneur. It needs a balanced combination of skills, knowledge and aptitude (mindset) to succeed. EDII trained artisans are testaments to how right competencies and step-matching with the changing times can move self-employment to a registered formal business.

<description>EDII Reports 135 (Issue IV, Oct - Nov 2025)
From the Director General’s Desk: Celebration of Innovation, Inclusion and Enterprise: Entrepreneurship Fortnight 2025 - Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in the economic and social progress of any nation. Entrepreneurs are truly nation-builders; they are job creators, innovators and the driving force of inclusive economic growth. Entrepreneurship contributes to reduced poverty, decreased unemployment rates and raised standards of living, all of which are primary factors in the development of a nation, which leads to overall development of the country. EDII has been an advocate of the benefits that entrepreneurs bring to a society and an economy. As India moves towards becoming a global economic powerhouse, the contribution of entrepreneurs will be even more crucial. Drawing inspiration from EDII, numerous institutions across the country are taking the lead in promoting entrepreneurship.

<title>EDII Reports 134 (Issue III, Aug - Sept 2025)</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/14601</link>
<description>EDII Reports 134 (Issue III, Aug - Sept 2025)
From the Director General’s Desk: In the eighties, EDII recognized and promoted the significance of entrepreneurship, and within years, across the world, entrepreneurship started getting highlighted as an effective mechanism to facilitate economic development. Governments endorsed how the SME sector&#13;
had the highest capital – employment ratio and how it also promoted regional balance in&#13;
development. With EDII, the world gradually went on to promote, being a 'job creator' rather than&#13;
a 'job seeker'. Apart from widely undertaking entrepreneurship development initiatives, EDII, as a&#13;
strategy, also took the onus of facilitating creation of Entrepreneurship Development (ED)&#13;
Institutes and Centres, within the country and outside as well.

<title>EDII Reports 133 (Issue II, June - July 2025)</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/14600</link>
<description>EDII Reports 133 (Issue II, June - July 2025)
From the Director General’s Desk: Disruption is important for businesses to grow. Outdated practices and structures only make a business obsolete and complacent, hampering long term growth. Technology adoption disrupts businesses as they significantly alter products and services, generate newer markets and entirely supersede the o0ld procedures and systems.India is creating a successful trajectory as a global technology and innovation hub in multiple&#13;
sectors but one domain where minimal technology transition is witnessed is the handicrafts sector.While there is a need to preserve the traditional crafts and the olden processes&#13;
of creating these, there is also a pressing need to step match with the market&#13;
requirements, strengthen the archaic practices with a touch of modernity and&#13;
technology adoption. This requires a mindset shift in addition to new skills&#13;
and competencies, and only such a change will help save the age-old practices&#13;
and crafts from getting extinct.
