Hatami, Maryam; Momen, Ali
Managers and entrepreneurs in organizations and society for real and successful presence need to have&#13;
patterns of day and future prediction. Undoubtedly, the most important element in the success of&#13;
organizations in the economic sphere and other areas in the world today is "technology". Some people referred&#13;
to technologies as "development engine". Technology has become a factor in competition between companies&#13;
and even countries, so, in addition to the per capita production of countries, other standards of technologycentered&#13;
development have also been included in the grouping of the country nowadays .In this regard,&#13;
"Technology Strategy Development Patterns" are considered as a macro-level issue at the present time. This&#13;
paper examines the general effects of technology and, consequently, information technology in organizations’&#13;
entrepreneurship and suggests strategies in the form of strategies, checklist and initial models for managers&#13;
and entrepreneurs.

<title>Technology Parks in Punjab: A Step towards Encouraging Entrepreneurship</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/7979</link>
<description>Technology Parks in Punjab: A Step towards Encouraging Entrepreneurship
Kaur, Gurpreet
Punjab since its re-organization in 1966 remained primarily an agricultural economy and manufacturing&#13;
failed to generate employment, because of traditional and low value added manufacturing industries. The&#13;
state has taken a step towards a concerted policy to transform the manufacturing sector into a robust engine&#13;
for growth and to absorb the educated semi-skilled labor by investing in innovation. An investment in&#13;
innovation and technology leads to increase in productivity which further leads to economic growth and a&#13;
higher standard of living. In today’s competitive world, manufacturing sector needs to exploit new ideas by&#13;
encouraging new technology for growth of entrepreneurship, by introducing high-value added products and&#13;
services that spur the industrial competitiveness in the global market. In manufacturing, technological&#13;
innovation is considered indispensable for steady improvement in products and for generating new&#13;
opportunities for entrepreneurs. For promoting industrialization and entrepreneurship, the government is&#13;
conducting experiment with infrastructure facilities for setting up technology parks in different sectors of the&#13;
industry and regions of the state. Science and Technology Parks not only promote industrialization and also&#13;
encourage inclusive socio-economic growth. The educated youth is the most important part of the society that&#13;
will give the new looks to the society and also promotes the economic growth of the state. The paper discusses&#13;
the contribution of Technology Parks in Punjab. The study is based on the case of IT Park and Software&#13;
Technology Park of India located at Mohali district of Punjab. The results revealed that IT Park proved to be a&#13;
significant trial by the state government for promoting entrepreneurship in the state, that further enhance the&#13;
cluster development as well as regional development.

<title>Study of Extent of Usage of Business Intelligence (BI) Between Large Organizations &amp; SMEs across Manufacturing &amp; Service Sectors in Ahmedabad</title>

<description>Study of Extent of Usage of Business Intelligence (BI) Between Large Organizations &amp; SMEs across Manufacturing &amp; Service Sectors in Ahmedabad
Ganesh, P
The fluctuating economic conditions and the pressures of competition force business owners and managers to&#13;
try out many different performance improvement concepts and tools, often with mixed results. Business&#13;
Intelligence (BI) is one such concept and tool which combines operational data with analytical tools to present&#13;
complex and competitive information to planners and decision makers by improving the timeliness and&#13;
quality of inputs to the decision process. Organizations adopt BI tools and information systems to learn from&#13;
the past, control the present and predict the future. BI is used to understand the capabilities available in the&#13;
firm; the state of the art trends, and future directions in the markets; the technologies, and the regulatory&#13;
environment in which the firm competes; and the actions of competitors and the implications of these actions.&#13;
The emergence of data warehouse as a repository, advancements in data cleansing, increased capabilities of&#13;
hardware and software, and the emergence of analytics all combine to create a richer business intelligence&#13;
environment. While large organizations are known to use BI, not much data is available about SMEs using&#13;
BI for business benefits. This study compared the extent of usage of BI in SMEs and Large Organizations in&#13;
Ahmedabad region across samples selected from the manufacturing and services sectors.
