<title>Explaining Entrepreneurial Success: A Conceptual Model</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/895</link>
<description>Explaining Entrepreneurial Success: A Conceptual Model
Thakur, Munish Kumar
The paper attempts at developing a conceptual model for entrepreneurial success. The approach followed in the mode deviates from trait and background approaches to explain entrepreneurial success. The model has been developed based on cognition and information processing abilities of entrepreneurs with social and cultural context. The model draws from multiple disciplines like sociology, psychology and economic. It is an attempt at building a distinct theory of entrepreneurial success. However, the model remains to be tested.

<title>Excellence Models for Entrepreneurship in Post Reform Era</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/894</link>
<description>Excellence Models for Entrepreneurship in Post Reform Era
Goel, M M
In the present paper an attempt is being made to diagnose the deteriorating standards in entrepreneurship particularly in Small Scale Industries (SSI) and to prescribe the essentials for an entrepreneur to become relevant for the post reform era. An attempt has also been made to identify the various attributes required in the entrepreneur through the ‘SHE’ model of women empowerment including Spiritualistic, Humanistic and Existential aspects of sustainable human resource development. Women can play a much greater role in industry by harnessing their feminine strength in communication, relationship building and conflict management. The paper discusses the ‘ASK’ model of existence with Abilities of head and heart, Skills of motherhood, knowledge of the Indian industry in changing economic scenario. The ‘MCA’ model of Skills including Morality, Credibility and Accountability. The ‘NAW’ approach of marketing advocated in the paper includes Need of consumer, Affordability and Worth of the goods and services being produced and marketed by Indian entrepreneur. SSI faces a bleak future. There are many factors responsible for the present status of SSI but a few controllable ones can still save the situation from its own burden of inefficiency. Labour unionism has played havoc with the interests of the SSI and our political setup has fanned the fire of labour unrest. Needless to say that bureaucratic and political setup has also to become competitive and efficient for improving the SSI in India. Besides the problems of non-availability of raw materials, inability to access the market needs, inadequacy of capital, high level of competition from large-scale industries, the small-scale sector is suffering from the lack of entrepreneurial ability and initiative leading to inefficient management.

<title>Comparison of Managerial Resourcefulness with Emotional Intelligence</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/893</link>
<description>Comparison of Managerial Resourcefulness with Emotional Intelligence
Nambudiri, Ranjeet
Managerial resourcefulness has been defined as the ability of a manager to employ self-regulating practices in order to enhance performance at the workplace. Existing literature has conceptualized managerial resourcefulness in terms of affective competence, intellectual competence and action-oriented competence. Emotional intelligence refers to an individuals’ ability to understand emotions, be aware of the feelings of others, differentiate between them and use this information to guide one’s thinking and behaviour. This article attempts to compare the construct of managerial resourcefulness with that of emotional intelligence. Comparisons are made across the various dimensions of both constructs to assess the extent of overlap between them. Review of the existing literature reveals that while there is a significant degree of overlap among dimensions of the two constructs, emotional intelligence differs with respect to its multiple-level treatment. Emotional intelligence is treated at a more general level than managerial resourcefulness and is deemed to be all-inclusive in nature, while managerial resourcefulness looks at competencies in specific managerial tasks of problem solving, people-management and emotional self-control.
