<title>Women’s Leadership Trends in Tribal Enterprises: A Study in Cooperatives based Tribal Enterprises in Jharkhand</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/12694</link>
<description>Women’s Leadership Trends in Tribal Enterprises: A Study in Cooperatives based Tribal Enterprises in Jharkhand
Bhaskar, Prem
This paper attempts to analyse the status of women entrepreneurship initiatives&#13;
through cooperatives in Jharkhand, India, and highlights the impact on tribal&#13;
women empowerment, and their leadership competencies on this economic&#13;
contribution. Bargaining for women leadership positions in all spheres of Asian&#13;
societies has emerged as an important concern in quest of equity, whereas tribal&#13;
women’s development has mostly remained limited to their participation in&#13;
various programmes run by the government as well as non-government agencies.&#13;
Recognition of women leaders from a tribal community in the 21st century is still a&#13;
distant dream. Yet economic empowerment and group activities in the tribal&#13;
regions of Jharkhand have revealed the potential and are seen as instrumental in&#13;
transforming leadership capabilities of tribal women leaders in the tribal&#13;
geography of Jharkhand. The paper shares the outcomes of the author’s study&#13;
based on case studies in the region, secondary data and, literature review, related&#13;
to the trends in tribal women’s leadership. The study reveals that women from&#13;
tribal communities of Jharkhand have traditionally been disempowered socially&#13;
and treated as less capable to lead and mostly refrained from societal leadership&#13;
positions. It is also revealed that with facilitation and support, they demonstrate&#13;
excellent leadership competencies to manage successful collective enterprises.&#13;
The study was able to showcase that given a facilitative environment woman from&#13;
tribal can also become successful leaders. The study also raises prominent&#13;
questions of assessing the impact and influence of such empowerment and&#13;
productive collective entrepreneurship on socioeconomic independence and&#13;
economic self-reliance.

<description>The Response of Entrepreneurs to the Uncertainty of Entrepreneurship in the Times of Covid 19
Kokatnu, Priyanka; Dixit, Aparna
COVID-19 being unique in its own way, the severity of its impact on businesses has&#13;
certainly impacted both supply and demand in the global economic system. Covid-19&#13;
has also affected the entire community of entrepreneurs immensely in terms of their&#13;
approach towards entrepreneurship. This had led to a quick transformation to their&#13;
operating styles which is more digitalized now. Despite of this serious dramatic and&#13;
disastrous change, it is observed that a lack of understanding exists for the&#13;
community of entrepreneurship. This research paper is a review of literature that&#13;
discusses the response of entrepreneurs to this uncertainty of Covid-19 pandemic. A&#13;
literature review is conducted of the current existing studies on Covid-19 and&#13;
entrepreneurs to highlight the need of response of entrepreneurs to such uncertain&#13;
conditions. This study enables a better and deeper understanding about how&#13;
entrepreneurs have become proactive and are imbibing positive approach. The paper&#13;
concludes that the Covid-19 crisis has been difficult for entrepreneurs due to the&#13;
required change in their perspective of their operation. This means the use of&#13;
technology is the need of the hour. This will surely enable the entrepreneurs to&#13;
overcome the uncertainty in Entrepreneurship.

<title>The Mediation Role of Micro-entrepreneurship in the Relationship between Microfinance and Poverty Alleviation</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/12692</link>
<description>The Mediation Role of Micro-entrepreneurship in the Relationship between Microfinance and Poverty Alleviation
Sofi, Zubair Ahmad; Qureshi, Nasir Zamir
This paper aims to evaluate the impact of microfinance on the alleviation of poverty.&#13;
The paper also tests the mediating role of micro-entrepreneurship and the&#13;
interaction effect of entrepreneurial training on microfinance and poverty&#13;
alleviation. The research is based on the cross-sectional data collected from 400&#13;
beneficiaries of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) Scheme through a&#13;
pre-tested questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using regression analysis,&#13;
ANOVA, and t-test. The mediation and moderation analysis was done by using&#13;
PROCESS macro developed by Andrew Hayes. The results suggest that access to&#13;
microfinance has enhanced the standard of living and health of beneficiaries,&#13;
whereas the education of the children of beneficiaries has been negatively impacted.&#13;
The results also revealed that there is a mediation role of micro-entrepreneurship&#13;
and moderation role of entrepreneurial training in the relationship between&#13;
microfinance and poverty alleviation. The study is based on cross-sectional data and&#13;
can be replaced by a longitudinal research design. Moreover, this study focused only&#13;
on the experimental group, thus, ignoring the control group. Further research could&#13;
be done focusing on both experimental as well as control groups. The study's&#13;
findings apprise the decision-makers and the microfinance proponents about the&#13;
significance of micro-entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial training in enhancing&#13;
the impact of microfinance among the deprived sections of society, particularly in&#13;
rural India. This paper is the first to check the mediating role of microentrepreneurship and the moderating effect of entrepreneurial training in&#13;
microfinance and poverty alleviation.

<title>Role of Ecosystem in Supporting Rural Entrepreneurs during COVID-19</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/12691</link>
<description>Role of Ecosystem in Supporting Rural Entrepreneurs during COVID-19
Gupta, Rajesh; Sahu, Akash; Sinha, Piyush Kumar
The rural economy plays a critical role in the development of the nation.&#13;
COVID-19 pandemic outbreaks have led many countries to impose lockdown.&#13;
India, the world's second most populated country with more than 65%&#13;
population in rural areas faced lockdown restrictions which adversely&#13;
impacted enterprises particularly village level nano enterprises. Analysis of&#13;
how these village enterprises have been impacted due to the lockdown and&#13;
factors that have contributed towards tiding over these challenges faced due to&#13;
lockdown were analysed. Findings suggest that enterprises which had support&#13;
of community driven and developed ecosystem at the local level were able to&#13;
survive and perform even in adverse conditions. Micro entrepreneurs trained&#13;
on entrepreneurship were better placed in terms of managing their resources&#13;
and were also prepared to diversify into newer opportunities to tide over the&#13;
adverse impact of lockdown. The study brings out the role of an&#13;
entrepreneurial ecosystem for rural enterprises that makes them more resilient&#13;
and sustainable.
