<description>Towards Codified Legal Regime for Trade Secret Protection: A Boost to Indian Entrepreneurship
Pravalikha, Batthini Divya; Bharmal, Zainab
Trade Secrets comprise an important component of Intellectual Property Rights. It helps enable firms enjoy their fundamental and most important right – the freedom to compete. But their use amongst Indian entrepreneurs is sparse. The legal environment in India does not make it easy for entrepreneurs to make use of this vital form of IPR.&#13;
This paper apart from being a primer on the topic, presents the current state of Trade Secret laws in India and United States of America (USA). It then compares the Trade Secret laws of the two nations and discusses how India can improve Trade Secret Laws so as to enhance its use amongst entrepreneurs. Using case laws the paper showcases the present condition of the Indian legal system which deceives ignorant entrepreneurs. The paper strongly recommends amending the laws relating to Trade Secrets in India so that there will be greater use of it amongst entrepreneurs. This will provide entrepreneurial ventures the much needed legal support in protecting their ideas during the early days. A strong trade secret law will enable entrepreneurs secure their business secrets and safeguard their innovations so as to compete effectively in a highly competitive global market.

<description>Teaching the Elective Legal Aspects of Innovation and Entrepreneurship to Management Students at IIM Trichy
V, Nithyananda K
Courses on Innovation and Creativity are being taught at many institutes, starting from fine arts schools to engineering institutes to management schools. Also courses on Entrepreneurship are being taught at various levels of business management students, both undergraduate and post-graduate. In all these courses, the author has found&#13;
that the coverage of legal aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship is either negligently low or completely nonexistent. The author, through a thorough literature review, has demonstrated that the coverage of legal aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship is essential to all management graduates. This not only helps them in managing their business more effectively and efficiently, but also would come in handy, if and when they decide to tread the path of entrepreneurship later in their career.The author has also demonstrated that such full-fledged course on legal aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship for management students is almost non-existent in other Indian Institutes of Management in India. The author has successfully conducted executive training programmes on the legal aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship by partnering with various experts from the industry and the law firms. He is in the process of developing a full-fledged, 3 credit course on legal aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship to management students at the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy) and would like to share this with the experts in the area and also discuss it with them before finalizing the same.

<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/153</link>
<description>Sustainable Enterprise Creation Process towards Green Economy
Iyer, Vijayan Gurumurthy
Sustainable entrepreneurship (SE) is a kind of an entrepreneurship that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability, efficiency and values of future generations to meet their own needs. The specific objectives of this research are: (i) To Implement the concept of SE, (ii) To formulate and appraise forty three number of&#13;
detailed project reports (DPRs) of Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM) extension learners in eleven batches attached with the DEBM Counselor and Co-ordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India-Ahmedabad (EDI) during the research year (RY) 2007-2014, (iii) To design and develop a comprehensive green economic system towards green economy and (v) To promote sustainable entrepreneurial policy for an efficient socio-economic transformation. The design of the study is cross sectional. DEBM extension learners were equipped with the knowledge, skills and motivation to set up their sustainable enterprises and function&#13;

The result analysis of forty three extension learners has been discussed. Green designs find that products and services are environmental advantage with sustainable production, good&#13;
performance and prices. This cost efficient integrated municipal solid waste management (IMSWM) approach has been introduced by intensive recycling programs. Such low-carbon and energy-efficient technologies of hi-tech industries make important contributions to mitigating the impacts of economic growth on&#13;
global warming. SE provides innovation to improve science and technology extension system and sustainable mechanization for mitigation of rural poverty. Based on project formulation and appraisal of forty three number of DPRs, green design products and services were initiated by DEBM students attached with the expert counselor during the RY 2006-2014.This action-based and field research study on SE promotes policy recommendation to strengthen scientific and technical extension education.

<title>Ecopreneurship in the Energy Sector: An Empirical Study on the Energy-starved State of Bihar, India</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/152</link>
<description>Ecopreneurship in the Energy Sector: An Empirical Study on the Energy-starved State of Bihar, India
Kumari, Archana
Awareness about the issues related to inclusive energy and environmental externalities in the energy sector, has produced a positive response from entrepreneurs across the country, especially in the energy-starved state of Bihar, in India. Entrepreneurs coming up with ‘green’ responses are termed as “ecopreneurs”. In this paper I have done an&#13;
empirical study that was carried out in the state of Bihar, which has been facing chronic energy shortage, using case study method. This paper characterizes a sample of ecopreneurs on the basis of technology (gasifier, combustion, solar) and distribution model (off-grid mini-grids and stand alone system; on-grid feed-in-tariff). The case studies document and analyze different business models deployed by the  entrepreneurs (such as Build and Maintain (BM), Build Own Operate and Maintain (BOOM), Build Own and Maintain (BOM) as well as their social, economic and&#13;
environmental impacts. In this paper, study also analyses the external factors (financial and regulatory aspects) that either help or hinder the development of alternative energy solutions in the state. Based on the impacts of the models, the study makes recommendations for future replication and expansion.
