Women Entrepreneurship - The Key Accelerator for Empowered India
Dixit, Shailja; Khosla, Rekha
Women entrepreneurship is an increasingly salient part of the economic makeup and is a key contributor to economic growth in almost all countries. Any strategy aimed at economic development will be unbalanced without involving women who constitute half of the world population.Women entrepreneurs comprise about a third of enterprises globally and contribute significantly to employment generation and development. Skill, Knowledge & adaptability in business are the main reason for women to take up entrepreneurship. Nonetheless, their potential is underutilized, and women’s under-representation as leaders in both business and the political arena remains of concern. In many countries, women are not only less likely to turn to entrepreneurship, but their businesses are more likely to be informal, generate less revenue and employ fewer
staff. Reasons for this are varied and include unfavorable business regulations, continued cultural barriers, gender stereotypes, women’s double roles at home and work, as well as unequal access to resources and bank credit. Major objectives of the study are to assess the role of Women entrepreneurs in creating new economy,
to ascertain the factors in the emergence of women entrepreneurs’ highlight the major constraint and challenges faced by women entrepreneur and opportunity available to them. At the end the paper makes some suggestions for an increase or promotion of women entrepreneurs and healthy growth of women entrepreneurs in India.

Women Entrepreneurship
Aye, Abokali
Today, when we speak about entrepreneurship, women are at par with men and have made their mark in different business sectors. Women have ventured out of their traditional roles and conventional occupations to start their own business in establishing their own identity and be financially independent. They have shed their own form and are comfortably embracing entrepreneurship. Although the concept is old, the attitude of starting own business and to manage as such has changed. This paper study such case of Naga women entrepreneurs in the two districts of Nagaland- Dimapur and Kohima and also, to motivate tribal women to achieve sustainability and be self reliant through entrepreneurship.

Women EntrepreneursMaking theirMark in SME Sector in India

Women EntrepreneursMaking theirMark in SME Sector in India
Premalatha, U, M; Iyer, Easwaran
India has certainly emerged as the testing ground for potential Indian women entrepreneurs. Indian women are not only educated, talented, confident, assertive, ambitious, and career oriented but they also know their minds! This helps them to juggle the tasks, manage all the chores and strike a perfect balance between their
professional and personal lives.Hence, foresight, time-management ability, patience, negotiating and budgeting skills of an entrepreneur are deep-rooted in the modern woman. Women’s entrepreneurship needs to be studied separately for two main reasons. The first reason is that women’s entrepreneurship has been recognised
during the last decade as an important untapped source of economic growth. And secondly it has been contributing increasingly to economic development.Women’s entrepreneurship is both about women’s position in society and the role of entrepreneurship in the same society. The study explains the various schemes for the
development and promotion of women entrepreneurs in India by focusing on how the government creates awareness among women entrepreneurs and encourage them to invest in various sectors of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises. Further more, internal challenges have also been addressed.
