<description>Does tolerance for ambiguity contribute to start-up success in India?
Ramana, C Venkata; Aryasri, A Ramachandra; Madhusudhan, Varanasi; Prasad, V M
Prevailing research in entrepreneurship emphasises many attributes that are needed for entrepreneurs to be successful. These attributes include need for achievement, risk taking, locus of control, and tolerance for ambiguity, industry knowledge, and sales skills. Bhide's detailed and in-depth study on start-ups in the context of USA has proposed that tolerance for ambiguity is critical for start-up success. To the knowledge of the authors, this is the first empirical study on tolerance for ambiguity in the context of start-up success. In this study the authors explore the relevance of tolerance for ambiguity to start-up success. The authors have conducted personal interviews with forty start-up entrepreneurs in India. The paper concludes that tolerance for ambiguity does not make a significant contribution to start-up success in India.

<description>Promoting Entrepreneurial Attitudes and Skills through Elementary Education to Meet the Future Professional Needs: An Action Research Project
Vaidya, Shipra
In today's competitive, dynamic world it is more important than ever before that students gain a basic understanding of the world of economics and business. New companies and new technologies are coming into existence not only in India but also throughout the world at an unparalleled rate, creating exciting work opportunities for enterprising individuals willing to take risks and take advantages of these challenges. This requires an entrepreneurial spirit that looks upon challenge as an opportunity - not as an obstacle; an attitude that seeks creative ways to meet challenge - instead trying to block them. The economic, business and entrepreneurial challenges of the future are great. By encouraging our students to develop their skills in scholastic areas, can we prepare them to meet these changes? In a very real sense, we have no option but to do so. Our curricula must reform this reality. The paper is the outcome of an ongoing activity based experimental study being conducted to explore the understanding level of children concerning entrepreneurship in the age group of 11-14 years. It presents epistemological reflections on entrepreneurship-oriented teaching learning processes. It attempts to answer that integrated approach to entrepreneurship can contribute in a significant way to some of the epistemological and methodological problems this domain currently faces. Finally, the paper describes the action-based research to explore a framework in which effective teaching learning processes can be developed.

<description>Edupreneurship
Hajirnis, Rajiv
Edupreneurship offers a choice for those who want a small community setting with personalized education that stimulates students' natural interests through a thematic study approach, economic-based curriculum with real world products &amp; character development. This type of institutes offers experiences in various learning styles so students can shine in areas of their own strength. Students are active participants in a learning adventure using academic skills to solve problems &amp; unlock meaning in their lives. The institutes who want to nurture Edupreneurship tries to implement following philosophy through their activities: a) Multiple Intelligences b) Thematic cottages c) Life &amp; Business skills for students d) Self-development Approach In developed countries separate institutes are working to promote Edupreneurship from the childhood. In our country though the separate institute isn't there, many professional institutes impart training courses or introduce curriculum to nurture entrepreneurship through education. In my article, I would like to introduce some of them working in the state of Maharashtra. I have selected following institutes who are promoting entrepreneurship through education: 1. Symbiosis Institute, Pune 2. MITCON, Maharashtra I would also like to give suggestions on how the other stakeholders of the society like Chamber of Commerce, NGOs &amp; Industry can play an effective role to introduce Edupreneurship on 10% basis in our country.
