<title>Strategic Entrepreneurial Agency in Emerging Markets</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/6099</link>
<description>Strategic Entrepreneurial Agency in Emerging Markets
Alvi, Farzad H.; Carsrud, Alan L.
This article introduces the concept of strategic entrepreneurial agency&#13;
(SEA) to describe the impromptu and improvised nature of strategy&#13;
making by managers of ventures in emerging markets. The concept is at&#13;
the intersection of strategy, international entrepreneurship (IE) and entrepreneurship&#13;
literatures. Rather than customary firm-level approaches&#13;
that dominate the literature, the concept of SEA argues that learning and&#13;
individual agency are critical for addressing the institutional upheaval of&#13;
emerging markets. The psychology of the entrepreneur and IE from the&#13;
individual as opposed to firm perspective are central in the institutional&#13;
contexts of emerging markets. The article proposes research propositions&#13;
informed by psychology of the entrepreneur and strategy-as-practice.

<title>Assessing Organisational Performance Within Entrepreneurial Orientation Research: Where Have We Been and Where Can We Go from Here?</title>

<description>Assessing Organisational Performance Within Entrepreneurial Orientation Research: Where Have We Been and Where Can We Go from Here?
Gupta, Vishal K.; Wales, William J.
Firm performance is a crucial aspect of research within the entrepreneurial&#13;
orientation (EO) literature. Yet, only limited attention has been&#13;
devoted to examining the range of performance targets and considerations&#13;
in the EO literature. As a result, tendencies and biases in how&#13;
firm performance is captured in EO studies are not well understood.&#13;
The present study analyses the treatment of firm performance in a&#13;
25-year sample of EO research. Our state-of-the-science analysis reveals a&#13;
tendency to develop novel combinative measures of performance within&#13;
the EO literature. Additionally, a limited understanding of operational&#13;
performance effects is evidenced in the sample. Finally, we observe a crucial&#13;
need to investigate more tightly defined performance consequences stemming from EO. Implications and directions for future research are&#13;
discussed.

<title>Can Incivility Inhibit Intrapreneurship?</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/6097</link>
<description>Can Incivility Inhibit Intrapreneurship?
Yariv, Itzkovich; Galit, Klein
While intrapreneurship is widely researched from the viewpoint of&#13;
managers, it is scantly investigated from the standpoint of employees.&#13;
Specifically, thus far, researchers overlooked employees’ perceptions&#13;
concerning the quality of support they receive from their organisation&#13;
and its impact on their intrapreneurial behaviour. In the framework of&#13;
social exchange theory (SET), our study addresses these deficiencies&#13;
by assessing the relationships between incivility, which represents lack&#13;
of organisational support, organisational support and intrapreneurship.&#13;
In line with SET, we hypothesised that incivility decreases employees’&#13;
resourcefulness to generate new ideas. Additionally, it was hypothesised&#13;
that organisational support would enhance intrapreneurship. Moreover,&#13;
it was hypothesised that organisational support would mediate the relationships&#13;
between incivility and intrapreneurship. Findings indicated that&#13;
organisational support is positively correlated with intrapreneurship&#13;
and that organisational support fully mediates the relationships between&#13;
incivility and intrapreneurship. Implications of these findings are discussed.

<title>Collective Entrepreneurship, Environmental Uncertainty and Small Business Performance: A Contingent Examination</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/6096</link>
<description>Collective Entrepreneurship, Environmental Uncertainty and Small Business Performance: A Contingent Examination
Yan, Jun; Yan, Li
This study empirically investigates the relationship between collective&#13;
entrepreneurial capability and small business performance in different&#13;
environmental conditions. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis&#13;
of data from more than 100 small businesses shows that the collective&#13;
entrepreneurial capability of a small business is positively associated&#13;
with its competitive performance. Among the three investigated&#13;
environmental dimensions, environmental dynamism is found to have a&#13;
positive interaction effect with collective entrepreneurial capability on&#13;
small business performance. Environmental hostility is found to have&#13;
a negative interaction effect with collective entrepreneurial capability&#13;
on small business performance. No interaction effect is found between environmental heterogeneity and collective entrepreneurial capability.&#13;
Implications of this study are discussed.
