<title>Research Essay on University Technology Transfer and its Linkages with Entrepreneurship</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/7937</link>
<description>Research Essay on University Technology Transfer and its Linkages with Entrepreneurship
Dubey, Vanshika
This essay analyses the impact and importance of University Technology Transfer Offices with regards to&#13;
entrepreneurship. It also addresses underlying gaps between university research and its commercialization&#13;
leading to new firm creation. 15 research papers having more than 100 citations were chosen for the study. A&#13;
careful study reveals that technological transfer offices located in universities would play a key role in filing&#13;
and licensing of patents for the interested candidates. Moreover the practices that take place in universities&#13;
such as incubation programs, mentoring and project works help in developing entrepreneurial skills in&#13;
students which would be vital for technology commercialization. Based on the literature review done in the&#13;
study it can be said that so far the number for commercialized technology is quite low. Most of them being&#13;
qualitative studies call for more robust quantitative studies in order to validate the findings made by&#13;
inductive researches in the past. The essay has implications in practice for academicians and emerging&#13;
entrepreneurs as entrepreneurship and technology go hand in hand and changes faster than one could&#13;
imagine. This essay also has importance for scholars as it calls for a suitable framework and appropriate&#13;
research design to conduct meticulous research in the future and substantiate what past researches have&#13;
explored.

<title>Fostering an Entrepreneurial Eco System in Academic Institution in India</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/7936</link>
<description>Fostering an Entrepreneurial Eco System in Academic Institution in India
Kundu, Nirmal
The economic growth of the country largely depends on the pool of educated manpower. The present higher&#13;
education system has failed to meet the aspiration of the graduating students and also of the country. The so&#13;
called educated manpower, in general, has proved to become the liabilities of the country in stead of being&#13;
assets. A radical change in thinking and a quantum shift in attitude and action in education strategy are&#13;
needed to reinvent the education ecosystem. In today’s world it is not the content of knowledge that is&#13;
important, but the way one transforms the knowledge into commercial activities and derives economic&#13;
benefits out of it, are the utmost requirement. Also no country can ever be great and prospering unless the&#13;
young are ambitious, risk taking and enterprising. Indian talent and entrepreneurial skill are well respected&#13;
around the world. However the present education system has failed to attract the best talent as well as to pull&#13;
the young educated generation to motivate in own start ups. Thus it is need of the time to foster&#13;
Entrepreneurial Eco systems in Higher Educational Institutions in India so that the young graduates&#13;
becomes the job provider, not the job seeker and generate employment and bring prosperity and laurels for the&#13;
country.

<title>Entrepreneurial Eco System in Autonomous Institutions</title>
<link>http://dspace.ediindia.ac.in:8181/xmlui//handle/123456789/7935</link>
<description>Entrepreneurial Eco System in Autonomous Institutions
Sekhar, Krovi Raja; Johnson, T Sudhakar
Developing entrepreneurial ecosystem in autonomous institutions including private &amp; deemed universities is a&#13;
challenge to attain entrepreneurial objectives with respect to the goals set under the umbrella of Make in India, Skill&#13;
India, Startup India and many other entrepreneurial provisions publicized by Government of India. KL (Deemed to be&#13;
University) has succeeded in building a state of art entrepreneurial ecosystem towards next generation Entrepreneurs&#13;
and set up a trademark model with a separate and dedicated center called Center for Innovation, Incubation and&#13;
Entrepreneurship (CIIE) in the year 2013. University has developed a policy on entrepreneurship and implementing&#13;
through academic policy since 2015 even before AICTE has released its startup policy in the year 2016. The institute has&#13;
brought lot of mechanisms to integrate entrepreneurship in to academics and each component is executed keeping&#13;
student’s academic profile integrating with their course of study. Academic benefits like offering entrepreneurship&#13;
related courses as compulsory open and certificate courses, attendance up to 20%, semester break, mini/major&#13;
project/practice school through startups, registration fee waiver to participate in national/international level startups&#13;
fest and events. A small startup seed fund to build prototypes by the students in the premises itself is the boom for the&#13;
generation. CIIE of KL (Deemed to be University) has been able to visualize the policy and developed mini ecosystem&#13;
through various entrepreneurial components. This paper discusses the essential components of entrepreneurial&#13;
ecosystem suitable for the said autonomous institutes. Finally, a glimpse of results is shown that were observed for the&#13;
past 4 years through said components.
