Abstract:
With a large population base and a high
incidence of disease, healthcare has been
accorded the status of priority sector by the
Government of India and individual State
Governments. Even after several concrete
efforts to improve the standards of the
healthcare sector, the progress of the country
in this area has not been significant when
compared to the progress made other
developing nations such as South Africa,
Brazil, China etc.
