Plasticisers are high boiling organic compounds
incorporated during polymerisation or
compounding into plastic or an elastomer to
increase flexibility, workability or distensibility. A
plasticiser may reduce the melt viscosity, lower
the temperature of a second order transition or
may lower the elastic modules of the product.
