Post Harvest Management & Marketing of Kesar Mangoes

Abstract

Mango is one of the major fruit grown in Gujarat, accounting nearly 17% of total fruit production in the State. The major varieties of mango grown in the State include are Kesar, Langra, Rajapuri, Badami and Gola. Of these, Gujarat is best known for harvesting high quality Kesar mangoes. The Saurastra region of the State is the belt where the best quality of kesar mangoes having attractive saffron pulp colour, delicious taste and unique aroma are grown. Kesar mango has strong potential to capture, both, the domestic markets and international markets.
