Water and sanitation in cities has assumed
greater emphasis with
increasing urbanisation. The present
infrastructure in most Indian cities is
inadequate to handle the increasing demand
for better civic facilities. Therefore, the
existing systems are under great stress to
cope with an ever growing
demand for these
services.
